To meet the increasing demand for machinery capable of handling various packaging materials, VIRE has refined its expertise in designing machines that can incorporate paper as an additional packaging material for hygiene products, including baby diapers, adult incontinence products, feminine pads, and light incontinence products. The VIRE team has developed packaging machines that maintain high performance even when using paper materials, with no need for special modifications or adjustments.
Technological Innovation and Adaptability for Hygiene Packaging Lines
VIRE faced the challenge of adapting its machines to work with paper, an environmentally friendly material that is difficult to handle due to its fragility and limited elasticity. VIRE technology, validated through years of testing and confirmed by the choice of numerous manufacturers in the hygiene sector, has demonstrated that these machines can maintain the same high performance levels even with this material.

The Complete VIRE and ZETA Packaging Line
The packaging process of VIRE machines is supported downstream by ZETA case packers when the final product needs to be packed in cardboard boxes. ZETA, a company within the Bucci Industries Group, manufactures case packers that integrate seamlessly with VIRE machines, offering a complete packaging solution managed by a single supplier.
ZETA case packers are divided into two categories based on the filling method: vertical case packers, optimal for the Hygiene sector, use robotic systems to place products into cardboard boxes from above; horizontal case packers, ideal for the Tissue sector, use pushers to insert products laterally into the boxes.
The Synergy between VIRE and ZETA delivers Maximum Efficiency in the Packaging Process
VIRE machines are equipped with a Quality Gate that verifies the correct positioning of incoming products. In case of misalignment, the system automatically rejects the affected products. This control unit improves the efficiency of the packaging machines by minimizing downtime caused by product jams.
Additionally, to further optimize the packaging process and eliminate waste, VIRE designers have developed a Bag Quality Control System, positioned at the connection point between the VIRE packaging machine and the ZETA cartoner. This system verifies the sealing of each pack exiting the VIRE machine before it enters the cartoner, preventing bottlenecks and subsequent efficiency losses.
Thanks to these two systems, the packaging cycle for Hygiene products is fast and efficient with any type of material, from polyethylene to paper.
VIRE Technology for Long-Term Sustainable Impact
VIRE’s commitment to developing solutions incorporating sustainable packaging materials responds to market trends, actively promoting responsible consumption and production practices without the need for an additional dedicated machine module. By leveraging the flexibility of its machines, VIRE demonstrates that it is possible to align technological innovation with environmental responsibility, a commitment thoroughly detailed in the Bucci Industries Group Sustainability Report.
