To enhance its pharmacy operations, the institute has adopted advanced automation solutions to ensure maximum safety and precision in the preparation of patient therapies.
A logistics hub for regional healthcare
The Meldola Hospital is not only a point of reference for its patients but also serves as a true logistics centre for the distribution of personalized therapies to other healthcare facilities in the region.
The project, currently expanding, will involve the hospitals of Rimini, Ravenna, Forlì, and Cesena, creating an integrated network for the safe and efficient administration of unit-dose medication.

To support this complex distribution network, the IRST of Meldola has implemented two advanced systems:
- A packaging unit for the preparation of personalized doses.
- A storage and production system for therapies, ensuring proper management of oncology and ancillary drugs.
To date, these solutions have enabled the production of over 100,000 patient kits, improving both the traceability and accuracy of administered therapies.
